Dear ARCH-E community,

We are excited to introduce the 1st edition of our project newsletter!

ARCH-E's main objective is to promote high-quality architectural solutions for the built environment by boosting the use of Architectural Design Competitions (ADCs) throughout Europe.

Currently, due to national frameworks and a lack of information sharing, transnational participation in ADCs is quite low, which excludes many architects from participating and hinders competition. This disproportionately affects small and micro-enterprises, particularly those led by young and female architects, which can harm their professional development.

ARCH-E is a project co-funded by the European Union under the Creative Europe framework (CREA).

1st ARCH-E Consortium Meeting in Ljubljana

The partners had the chance to finally meet in person before the summer break! We conducted a workshop focused mainly on 3 concrete measures:

analysing and comparing the main competition systems and tools in all partner countries;
creating an unified glossary to collect country-specific technical words which are understandable for all architects across EU;
identifying the needs of the architecture professionals.

ARCH-E coordinators at UIA Congress 2023

The ARCH-E coordinators were invited to present the project at the UIA - International Union of Architects 2023, specifically at the session on ‘International Architectural Competitions - Promotion of high-quality architecture’. Many thanks to the UIA for the invitation!
